Data Protection
We protect your personal data with appropriate safeguards.
Your Consent
We process your data only with your explicit consent.
Your Rights
Access, correct, or delete your data at any time.
1. Who We Are
Jimbo iTaka by Jumuisha is a waste-to-wealth marketplace that connects organic waste producers, collectors, sellers, and buyers across Kenya. We are based in Wote, Makueni County, Kenya. You can reach us at info@jumuisha.or.ke or +254 724 601514.
2. Information We Collect
When you register as an actor or submit an inquiry, we collect personal data you provide directly, including your full name, phone number, email address, national ID, county, sub-county and ward. We also collect information about the organic waste materials you list, such as type, weight and price. Listing details (excluding your private contact details) are visible to marketplace users so they can find and trade with you.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to verify your registration, publish approved waste listings, connect you with buyers or sellers, manage inquiries and follow-ups, generate aggregated platform analytics, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Legal Basis & Consent
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you check the consent box during registration. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
5. Data Sharing
Your contact details (phone, email) are only shared with a counterparty once you engage in an inquiry or trade. Sellers' masked phone numbers are shown publicly on listings for contact purposes; full contact details are revealed only through the inquiry process. Aggregated, non-identifiable data may be shared in reports.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You may request deletion of your data at any time.
7. Your Rights
As a data subject you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@jumuisha.or.ke.
8. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes and post the updated policy on this page with a revised date.
